ABSTRACT:This study features an evidence-based academic study of youth entrepreneurship globally, highlighting the manner in which young founders are reinventing sectors, innovating, and creating economic and social value in developed and emerging economies. This study utilizes data gathered through the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), World Bank, International Labour Organization (ILO), and other reputable institutional sources. Eight central research questions, relating to the definition, drivers, barriers, ecosystems, characteristics, and effects of entrepreneurial activities of youths, are addressed in this study. The results of this study highlight the existence of a true structural change, rather than a transient phenomenon. For the second successive year, the rate at which young founders aged 18-24 started businesses was higher than the older generation's rate. Yet there is still a large gap between what youths are dreaming of and what they are doing. 39% of the youths aged 15-30 in the European Union claim their preference for self-employment compared to traditional jobs; yet only 7% were self-employed in 2022. In this study, it is argued that bridging this gap is the main challenge of the decade.
