ABSTRACT:Adolescent drug use represents a significant social and educational concern, with high schools occupying a critical position in the early identification, prevention, and intervention of substance-related problems. The manner in which schools respond to drug addiction cases can substantially influence students’ access to support, recovery, and continued educational engagement. This study investigates the strategies employed to address drug addiction among high school students and examines respondents' perceptions regarding their effectiveness. A quantitative research approach employing a descriptive research design was adopted. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered via Google Forms to 27 respondents, while secondary data were derived from scholarly research papers, academic journals, and other credible sources. The collected data were analysed using frequency distributions, percentage analysis, and graphical representations. The findings indicate that respondents place considerable emphasis on counselling, preventive awareness programmes, parental involvement, and the development of a supportive school environment as essential components of an effective response to adolescent drug use. The study further examines perceptions of punitive approaches, highlighting the importance of balancing disciplinary measures with rehabilitation and psychosocial support. The research concludes that adolescent drug addiction cannot be effectively addressed through a single intervention; rather, a comprehensive and coordinated framework integrating prevention, early intervention, counselling, parental participation, and institutional support is essential for fostering healthier and more supportive educational environments.
