ABSTRACT:Artificial Intelligence has become an important part of modern education and is changing the way students access information and interact with learning systems. Among the different applications of Artificial Intelligence, chatbots are becoming increasingly useful because they allow students to communicate with a computer system using natural language. An educational chatbot can answer questions, explain difficult concepts, provide learning resources, conduct quizzes, give feedback, and provide assistance with routine academic queries. This research paper examines the role of chatbots in education and studies their potential to improve student learning and academic support. The study is based on a review of existing research related to Artificial Intelligence, chatbots, Natural Language Processing, and educational technology. The paper discusses the applications, benefits, limitations, ethical concerns, and future scope of educational chatbots. It also proposes a basic framework for an educational chatbot that can provide academic assistance and personalized learning support. The findings of the study indicate that chatbots can provide students with quick and accessible academic assistance and can reduce repetitive work for teachers and educational staff. However, issues such as inaccurate information, privacy, academic dishonesty, bias, and overdependence on Artificial Intelligence need to be considered. The study concludes that chatbots should be used as supporting tools along with teachers rather than as replacements for human teaching.
